  • At the Relations Group we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and environmental impact - here are just a few things we are doing to reduce our environmental impact.

    Our Green Office Ambassador

Our green office ambassador is constantly looking for opportunities to reduce our environmental footprint. Our ambassador encourages the team to submit ideas to them that will further reduce our environmental impact. Below are just some of the ways in which we play a small part in reducing our carbon footprint.

    Encouraging and Facilitating Home Working

At the Relations Group over 80% of staff are working from home most of the time. Saving from travel and the environmental impact of commuting but also helping for a positive work life balance. This also means less face-to-face client meetings as technology means most meetings now take place as virtual meetings.

    Cycle to Work Scheme

We encourage staff to use the Cycle to Work Scheme to improve the health and wellbeing of staff and to be less reliant on cars and public transport.

    Insulation

Non-domestic buildings are responsible for 9% of UK greenhouse gas emissions every year. At the Relations Group we take pride in insulating our windows, walls, doors, and have insulation to reduce energy passing into the flat roof, helping us to reduce our energy use and cutting emissions.

    Minimising Waste

We aim to minimise the waste in all our processes and if waste is a by-product of campaigns then we always aim to recycle if possible. When utilising competitions as a route to coverage we aim to send prizes direct to winners rather than receive prizes simply to reship them to winners which would incur additional carbon emissions through deliveries.
    Wherever possible we aim to:

    • reduce the amount of packaging we use

    • use recyclable materials

    • minimise the use of unnecessary single-use plastics

    • provide recycling options for the disposal of waste

    • clear labelling on appropriate disposal methods

    Energy Use

Here at the Relations Group we use LED lighting for all rooms, have energy efficient monitors for all PC's, and have appliances that have the highest energy efficiency ratings. We have a culture of switching off all electrical devices when not in use.

  • At The Relations Group, our values define our actions. We vehemently oppose all forms of modern slavery and are dedicated to preventing it in every possible way. We demand this commitment from our team and from all our business associates. Our stance on modern slavery: zero tolerance.

    Purpose of the Policy

Definition and Aim: Modern slavery is a criminal offence under the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Our policy is to prevent modern slavery within our business and supply chain, aligning with the Act's meaning of "modern slavery."

    Steps for Prevention

Transparency and Standards: We prioritise transparency in our operations and supplier engagements, upholding high standards and forbidding forced labor, human trafficking, or slavery in any form.

    Responsibility

Accountability: The ultimate responsibility for preventing modern slavery lies with our Leadership Team. All managers are responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy.

    Reporting Suspicions

    Whistleblowing

Concerns about suspected modern slavery can be reported using our Whistleblowing Procedure, ensuring confidentiality and appropriate action.

    Immediate Action

Reporting Suspicious Activity: Any suspicious activity related to modern slavery should be reported promptly to the Office Manager for immediate action.

    Direct Communication

Raising Concerns: We encourage the public and external parties to confidentially report concerns about modern slavery to our Office Manager.

    Safeguarding

Protection for Whistleblowers: We support and protect individuals raising genuine concerns in good faith, ensuring no detrimental treatment as a result of reporting suspicions of modern slavery.

    Policy Communication

Creating Awareness: Our zero-tolerance policy against modern slavery is communicated to all suppliers, contractors, and business partners from the outset and reinforced as necessary.

    Policy Review

Regular Evaluation: This Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy will undergo regular reviews and updates to ensure its effectiveness and relevance.

We remain committed to eradicating modern slavery and human trafficking. This policy guides our actions and reflects our dedication to a world free from these abhorrent practices.
